thameside'S behaviour curriculum

Progressing together: inside and out.

At Thameside Primary School, we are committed to preparing our pupils for the opportunities, responsibilities and experiences of later life. We believe that the explicit teaching of positive behaviour is a vital part of this preparation and plays a key role in helping children develop the character, confidence and values they need to thrive.

Our Behaviour Curriculum has been carefully designed to promote prosocial behaviour through clear expectations, consistent routines and regular opportunities for pupils to learn, practise, model and refine positive behaviours. We want our children not only to know what positive behaviour looks like, but also to understand why it matters and how it contributes to successful relationships, learning and future achievements.

Through frequent rehearsal and reinforcement, we support pupils in developing behaviours that become embedded in their everyday lives. Our Behaviour Curriculum is accessible to all pupils from Foundation Stage to Year 6 and is adapted where necessary to meet the needs of children with SEND and other additional needs. We are committed to ensuring that every child is supported to succeed.

You can download our Behaviour Curriculum below. This is the fourth edition of the curriculum and it was last reviewed by pupils and staff in July 2026.
