CLASS TEACHING ASSISTANT (Shared across Years 4 & 5)

To start from September 2022  

Grade RG3 SCP 5-7, £10.19 per hour – Actual starting salary: £13,322 per annum

Hours of work: 30 hours per week, Mon to Fri, 6 hours per day (8.30am– 3.30pm with 1 hour lunch break.)

Status: Permanent, term time only

 

The school are looking to appoint a passionate and creative Teaching Assistant to join our diverse school.

We require an enthusiastic individual to work with the class teacher providing support and assistance in the development, learning, and care of students. Your day will be split spending half the day supporting Year 4 and half the day in Year 5 class.

The ideal candidate will display a willingness to help a range of children with varied needs, have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and be able to work confidently as part of a team. Past experience as a Teaching Assistant would be ideal but any candidate with the enthusiasm to work in a school and support the progress of children in a learning environment is welcome to apply.

 

Your duties will include:

  • Supporting the class teacher to implement planned lesson learning activities
  • Engage and support individual pupils and groups in their learning (e.g. reading &  

 writing)

  • Provide welfare support to children and attending to first aid incidents
  • General support in the classroom planning resources and setting up the classroom
  • Providing administrative support to the class teacher to prepare resources for class
  • Supervising children on the playground at break times and during lunchtimes
  • Creating informative and exciting classroom displays

 

We are seeking candidates that have:

  • Previous experience of working with children is preferable
  • A good standard of English and Maths is essential Grade C or equivalent
  • An ability to work with a team and diverse staff/pupil groups
  • Effective interpersonal and communications skills
  • Exceptional, highly motivated and hard-working
  • Commitment to teamwork
  • Patience and commitment to work with young people, some with challenging needs

1:1 SEND TEACHING ASSISTANT (mornings)
 

1:1 SEND TEACHING ASSISTANT

20 hours per week

Monday – Friday 08:30- 12:30, term-time only

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly and highly committed team from September 2022 to work with a SEND child on a 1:1 basis (this could also include 2:1 support at times).

Fixed Term initially until Easter. 

During the school day whilst working alongside the Class Teacher your duties will include:

● providing direct 1-1 support and care for a named child with complex SEND needs

● helping to plan for that child and create a suitable learning environment for that child

● supporting individual pupils and small groups in their learning, both indoors and outdoors

● observe and support the child on a 1:1 basis to help progress their learning

● supporting the teacher with all aspects of children’s learning, including administrative support

● assisting with setting up the classroom, preparing resources and creating classroom displays.

 

We are looking for a supportive teaching assistant with:

● Previous experience of working with children with SEND children and/or Level 2/3 teaching assistant qualification would be an advantage but not essential.

● a good standard of English and Maths is essential, effective communication skills and a commitment to teamwork.

Hours of work: 12 hours per week (Monday and Tuesday) 6 hours per day, term time only

We are looking for an experienced, dynamic and proactive individual who is self-motivated and can make a difference to the wellbeing and progress of our children. You will be supporting a range of young children with all their basic welfare and development needs including some with early SEND needs.  

The ideal candidate will display a willingness to help a range of children with varied needs, have excellent communication skills, be highly motivated and be able to work confidently as part of a team.

The successful candidate will:

  • Demonstrate they have experience of working in Early Years Foundation Stage or KS1 children and be able to work with children with early SEND needs.
  • Be skilled at building positive and respectful relationships with children, parents & colleagues

  • Providing administrative support to the class teacher to prepare resources for class
  • Supervising children on the playground at break times and during lunchtimes
