PE & Games
During a regular week, the children have at least one indoor PE session and another outdoors. In addition to these lessons, the children have opportunities to play on the adventure playground and tyre park each week and to use the football, 4 square and basketball zones at break and lunchtimes.
On a Thursday, children and teachers from Reading Blue Coat School run sporting activities for the children to take part in. There is also football run for Year 6 on a Friday by Reading Play.
We run a range of after school sporting / exercise activities. See our 'Clubs' page for more information.
We recommend that children bring in their PE kit on a Monday and take it home on a Friday. This way, they will always have their kit in school – for PE and after school activities - even if timetables change unexpectedly.
Children should have both an indoor and outdoor PE kit in school. This should include: Shorts, tracksuit bottoms, a plain t-shirt or polo shirt and pumps or trainers. In the summer, a hat is useful for outdoor PE and a sweatshirt, tracksuit top or similar is essential in the winter. Your child’s PE kit should be a complete change from their school uniform.
If you have any questions about PE kit, please do not hesitate to contact us.
